My 5 Favorite Snacks to Warm Up With This Winterfeatured

I don’t know about you, but right now my home is in a frigid snowy state. It seems that every time the weather might begin to warm up, there’s another 6 inches of snow. So, this leads to a lot of things. I wear leg warmers a lot. I have multiple fleece blankets out all the time. I’m never without a pair of slippers. I drink a lot of tea and hot cocoa. I also have a lot of snacks that warm me right up after spending a day out in the cold. So, these are my 5 favorite snacks to pass through this snowy time.

My 5 Favorite Snacks to Warm Up with This Winter

Buttermilk Pumpkin Biscuits

1. Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Scones

I love this recipe and these scones are to die for.  I’ve even adjusted the recipe to make it a savory scone rather than sweet.  These are amazing when you heat them up in the microwave for just a few seconds and the chocolate starts to get gooey.  The perfect snack to go along with your morning tea!

2. Triple Chocolate Chunk Muffins

These are an old favorite of mine.  I hadn’t made them for a while until last night.  Now, I remember why I used to make them once a week for such a long time.  If you’re a chocolate fan like me, then these are your kind of muffins.  Also, they’re rather healthy.  They contain yogurt and oats for instance.  They’re a perfect snack for the chocolate lover that doesn’t want to over indulge.  I like these cold, right out of the fridge.  But, if you warm them up like the scones, the gooey chocolate goodness still applies.

3. Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

If you know me, then you know that I love garlic almost as much as I love chocolate.  When I come home and want a quick snack, I know that this is the perfect choice.  They’re amazing warmed up and will warm you up after a long day spent out in the snow.

4. Buttermilk Pumpkin Biscuits

Whoever says pumpkin should stay in the fall is WRONG!  These are delicious all year long.  I particularly like this recipe because it is SO EASY.  You can just whip these up and then eat them all.  They never last more than about two days in my home.

5. Soft Pretzels

When are soft pretzels a bad thing?  NEVER!  I used to make these all the time with MMR.  These are a bit time consuming to make.  But, the most time consuming part is just to let the dough rise.  It’s a perfect thing to do during a quiet night in.  Plus, these make AMAZING snacks.  They’re filling and buttery and delicious.  There’s really no downside here.

There you have it.  These are my top 5 favorite snacks to warm up with this winter.  I hope you’ll try a few and let me know how they turn out. 🙂
